Saltaire Fine Art Fair is a new, ambitious event showcasing paintings by contemporary artists.
Exceptionally curated and presented with the vision of creating a worthwhile collecting experience, the fair has been created for art lovers, connoisseurs and those who enjoy living with art as much as looking at it.
Why Saltaire
Saltaire is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Yorkshire’s most visited cultural destinations. The Fair takes place during Saltaire’s Christmas celebrations, placing contemporary art at the centre of one of Yorkshire’s most distinctive seasonal events. Victoria Hall will be alive with music, performance and festive activity throughout the day, bringing a substantial public audience into the building while the Fair itself remains carefully curated around the work.
Open from 10am until 10pm, the Fair will culminate in Saltaire’s much-anticipated Christmas Tree Light Switch-On, with Santa himself joining the celebrations, with thousands of visitors expected throughout the day.
Collectors Lounge
Selected works will also be presented at Nina Hunter Gallery & Collectors Lounge, creating a quieter environment for conversations between artists, collectors and guests away from the activity of the main hall.
Our Commitment
We will present participating artists within a carefully considered exhibition environment and support the fair through dedicated press, editorial and social media activity.
Artists will be introduced individually in the lead-up to the fair, with selected works featured across our channels and presented to our growing collector and art-loving audience.
Sales enquiries and transactions during the fair will be handled by the Saltaire Fine Art Fair team.

Jake Attree
The Honorary Artist

We are delighted to welcome Jake Attree as the honorary artist of the inaugural Saltaire Fine Art Fair. Born in York and long associated with Yorkshire, Jake is an acclaimed painter whose work is rooted in close observation, atmosphere and place. His paintings transform familiar landscapes and interiors into compelling studies of light, memory and time.
With a career spanning decades, his work has been exhibited widely and is held in public and private collections. His presence at the inaugural Fair reflects our belief in bringing together artists of distinction with a new generation of makers, creating a considered and generous celebration of contemporary art in Saltaire.
Curated by Nina Hunter
The Saltaire Fine Art Fair is curated by Nina Hunter, contemporary artist, curator and founder of Saltaire Art Gallery (now Nina Hunter Gallery & Collectors Lounge) and Saltaire Art School. An MA Fine Art graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Nina has built a career spanning fine art, illustration and education, with her own work exhibited internationally and held in private collections, while her gallery programme has brought together established and emerging artists from Yorkshire and beyond. Through her gallery, Nina has developed a distinctive exhibition programme with a particular emphasis on strong artistic voices and exceptional craftsmanship.

Participation
Artists are invited to book exhibition space according to the scale of their presentation.

• 0% commission on sales made during the fair
• 25% commission on sales generated through www.saltaire.art until the end of January
Artists are selected by Nina Hunter for the strength and integrity of their practice. The Fair is deliberately limited in scale, allowing each artist’s work to be presented with space and consideration.
A significant audience
The Fair takes place during Saltaire’s Christmas celebrations, when the village attracts thousands of jolly visitors throughout the day.
0% commission
Artists retain 100% of the sale price on works sold during the Fair. Sales enquiries and transactions are handled by the Saltaire Fine Art Fair team.
